How we verify listings
Every listing on BCSKidsGuide traces back to a source, and shows the date we last checked it. That's not fine print — it's the core of how this site works. We'd rather tell you what we don't know than guess.
Every listing links to its source
The sourceUrl on every program is where the information came from, and where you should confirm details before applying. We write our own short summary of each program — we never copy a program's marketing description — but every fact traces back to that link.
What "last verified" means
The verified date is the last time someone checked this listing's details against its source. Programs change dates, fees, and eligibility often, sometimes without much notice. An older verified date is a signal to double-check before you rely on it — which is why we say it plainly, right on the listing, instead of hiding it in a footer.
Confidence levels
Every listing carries one of three confidence levels:
- High
- Verified against the primary source this cycle. The details you see should be current.
- Medium
- The program itself is confirmed to exist and run, but some fields — a date, a fee — may be stale.
- Low
- Listed, but largely unverified. Treat every detail as a starting point, not a fact. We mark these listings "needs checking."
What we don't do
We never invent a price, a deadline, or a grade range to fill a gap. When something is unknown, the listing says so plainly — "Cost not verified," "Deadline unknown" — instead of a vague placeholder. The source link does the rest of the work.
Something wrong?
Corrections from parents are the cheapest accuracy mechanism we have. Every program page has a "Something wrong with this listing?" link that opens a pre-filled email — or you canreach us directly.
